Lucidweb is a deeptech startup specialised in WebVR technology, which allows high-quality VR, (interactive) 360° video or 3D models (AR) to be distributed via a browser. Our white-labelled platform is available as a SaaS solution with a monthly licensing fee for clients to upload, edit and publish their immersive experiences on mobile, desktop and XR headsets via one URL.
When marketing teams first began exploring social media and content sharing as a client acquisition method, most of this content was still pictures. The next phase was video, and then stories with emojis and other content layered on top of a video. Today, increasingly companies are creating VR and 360 videos and immersive websites. LucidWeb has been awarded for their pioneering tech & platform and they work with global brands such as Netapp, Coca Cola and Arte France.
When it comes to users wanting to watch immersive content, most VR and 360 video distributors can only distribute via an app. If a user is asked to download an app to view content then the bounce rate dramatically increases in comparison to if you can just click and watch in the browser.
LucidWeb was created by a founder in the content sharing industry who predicted the desire to share immersive content via a URL due to existing content sharing behaviour. LucidWeb started selling its SaaS solution in 2020. This first to market product has strong applications in travel, real estate, entertainment and retail.
