Lipa Later is a buy now pay later platform that allows consumers to purchase items in monthly installments without the need for any credit card. Lipa Later’s overall goal is:
- To improve the standards of living of consumers by enabling access to affordable and user friendly credit facilities and significantly increasing their purchasing power.
- To increase revenue for merchants by increasing their overall customer cart size and offering an additional, more flexible payment option for their customers.
Lipa Later is going after a $50B market opportunity in Africa and have made significant progress along the way. Originally started in Kenya, Lipa Later is now in three markets; Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and on track to open in Nigeria by August 2021. We have recruited over 500+ merchants to our platform and have been successful in exclusively on boarding some of the most strategic retailers in the region e.g. Carrefour, Huawei, Samsung, Tecno- just to mention a few. We have over 100,000+ users signed up on our platform and have so far accumulated a GMV of $4.5M+ with a potential annual pipeline of $400M.
