LEAD Monrovia Football Academy

LEAD Africa is a network of progressive leadership academies that empower Africa's future leaders through quality education and sport. LEAD was borne out of the success of its flagship, LEAD Monrovia Football Academy, which was founded in 2015.

LEAD Monrovia Football Academy provides Liberia's talented youth with academic classes, football training, and life skills lessons to improve academic performance, break down gender barriers, and prepare our students to lead positive change in Liberia. For the 2021-22 school year, we have 161 student-athletes, 63 girls and 98 boys, ages 8-18, in grades 3-10. Each year, we add one grade of 20-25 students until we reach grades 3-12, and at capacity, we expect to have 200 students. Our students live with us on campus. The school day runs from 8:00 am-6:00 pm, Monday-Friday, with breakfast, life skills lessons, and academic classes in the morning, lunch at noon, and football training in the afternoon. On Saturdays, our students enjoyed our unique special speaker series – when they interact with prominent young leaders making a change in their communities.
