About your organization / profile
High Hopes Labs (established in 2019), has successfully developed a breakthrough High Altitude direct air Carbon Capture (HACC) technology that is set to play a significant part in preventing the climate crisis. Our technology is based on balloons which operate at a high altitude of 15km above the ground, where using a physics based approach, we are able to leverage the abundant wind, cold temperatures and solar energy to freeze carbon out of the air, and capture it at a fraction of the cost that is required to do so on the surface (€60/ CO2 Ton captured at full scale). The technology can be scaled up quickly (with no technical or other limitations on total scale). A POC prototype was developed and tested successfully in real life high altitude conditions. The technology is patented and has been qualified and listed on the Puro.Earth platform (owned by Nasdaq), a process that included an external full LCA (conducted according to ISO 14044:2006, ISO 14067:2018), and determining that the HHL solution is 88% carbon negative. Earlier this year, HHL was also awarded a grant from the Israeli Innovation Authority and seal of excellence from the EIC.
