The port of Oostende is a multifunctional and multimodal SME-port, focusing on diverse aspects of maritime logistics and industry.
The following activities are considered within the port:
- offshore renewable industyr and blue industry (outer port): a major industrial cluster , specialised in the installation and maintenance of offshore energy installations and wind parks, supported by research facilities on land and at sea
- production, storage and distrubution of hydrogen for hydrogen shipping
- circular economy cluster (inner port) : reconversion of non-ferro metals, asphalt, plastics, construction materials, etc
- traditional logistic maritime operations
