GlakoLens

GlakoLens is a medical devices company developing innovative biosensors based on proprietary technology. The first application of this sensor technology is a diagnostic smart contact lens system for continuous intraocular pressure (IOP) fluctuation monitoring. The GlakoSense Platform aims to improve the management of glaucoma and ocular hypertension by providing enhanced diagnostic data and personalising treatment algorithms. 

GlakoLens was co-founded as a technological spin-off from Boğaziçi University in 2017 by three distinguished academicians conducting research on biosensors, integrated circuits, MEMS and electro-optical systems. They have been working together for more than a decade and have successfully completed several international collaborative R&D projects. The company’s strategy is to introduce a single, state-of-the-art product at a time.
