Recovery of complex packaging through patented, economically viable, and sustainable technologies, producing high-quality recycled materials for high-value applications. The project consists of building the first mechanical recycling line capable of separating the different layers of packaging; removing adhesives, inks, and coatings; and deeply decontaminating to increase the quality of the recycled material, making it suitable for food contact and cosmetic packaging. We use two exclusive and patented technologies.

The business model consists of being a plastic recycler in Spain and licensing the technologies in other countries. Revenue sources will include the sale of recycled plastic, royalties from technology usage, royalties from machinery sales, the sale of chemical reagents for the process (proprietary and confidential know-how), and technical consulting and regulatory compliance services. By 2030, we will achieve €38.4 million in revenue with a 60% profit margin. Fych is the only company offering multilayer packaging delamination and decontamination. We can be the first to bring recycled polyethylene for food contact to the market, which is a revolutionary milestone for the industry. Additionally, we can adapt our process to multiple types of multilayer waste: rigid trays, poly-aluminum from briks, flexible packaging, etc. While our competitors can only recycle one kind of waste and typically use processes that are much more intensive in OPEX and CAPEX because they use solvents or operate at high temperatures, our process is more scalable and sustainable, as we perform washes with water and non-hazardous chemical reagents in less treatment time, thanks to our patented innovation.

We have secured €2.3 million from the EIC Accelerator and are currently seeking an additional €4 million with the possibility of co-investment from the EIC Fund.
