The company was founded in 2019, as an official spin-off of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, resulting from more than 8 years of research in the field of organic electronics and, specifically, organic thin film transistors. In May 2020 the company closed a first fundraise of € 900.000 from business angels, VCs and family offices.
FLEEPtech’s main activity involves the development of PrintIC, a proprietary technology platform for flexible integrated circuits and systems. The platform is configured to be developed as general-purpose and multi- application, so to conform to the needs of multiple markets. The company aims at proficiently selling flexible integrated systems to markets like packaging, biomedical devices and sensors.
The company is pursuing an Integrated Device Manufacturer (IDM) business model, meaning that it sells products whose ideation is either internal or through customer interaction. In such model, the company handles the whole process from product ideation to sales, passing through microchip and system design and manufacturing through its own facilities.
