The Bridge is conceived as an inclusive, sustainable and locally-integrated theatre, connecting multilingual Brussels to English-language talent. It uses the power of theatre to promote social cohesion and progressive values. The Bridge produces and receives thought-provoking and relevant plays that respond interculturally to the diverse Brussels populace.
The Bridge is more than just a venue and a producing house. We interact with the local community through learning and participation activities, linking workshops in schools and in the community with productions to introduce children and adults to English-language theatre and the performing arts.
Once we find a permanent home, The Bridge Theatre will be complemented by a Cafe and Bar. Members of the public will be welcome to come in and enjoy the public bookcase or temporary art collection. The Bar will transform into a casual live music venue during the evening for local up-coming musicians. The Bridge Theatre strives to be carbon-neutral and plastic conscious.
The Bridge will contribute to progressive social change, including greater equality (SDGs 5 & 10), greater sustainability (SDGs 11 & 12) and greater happiness (SDG 3).
