About your organization / profile
Biohope is a commercial-stage biomedical company focused on the research and development of precision medicine IVD tools to personalize medical treatment with immunosuppresant drugs, in order to improve clinical outcomes in patients with chronic inflammatory conditions, autoimmune diseases and Transplant Medicine.
Biohope has developed a cell technology called Immunobiogram®, based on a propietary cell culture and plaque that conforms an In Vitro Diagnostic Test, that allows to identify the most potent immunosuppresant drugs for a specific patient. It enables the personalizzation of immunosuppresant drug treatment for patients with immunological diseases and Transplant Medicine, fields in which treatments are currently empirically prescribed.
The first product, for kidney transplant patients, Immunobiogram RT®, has shown positive results in 5 clinical studies to date that included aprox 1000 patients. It is a cellular functional assay to aid in prescribing immunosuppressants in Renal Transplant. It provides the level of sensitivity of the patient's immune cells to immunosuppressive drugs in order to facilitate personalized treatment to improve clinical outcomes.
It addresses a huge unmet medical need (of +1 million patients worldwide, 50% will reject the organ in less than 10 years).
Immunobiogram RT obtained regulatory approval for EU territory and it is being very recently marketed in Spain (Nov24) at a nice price. It has been approved to date in three major University Hospitals in Spain and we aim to progressively introduce the product in the major Transplant Units in Spain and start an internationalization process. We already obtained regulatory approval in Mexico and we plant to launch this year. Also, we have an agreement in place with an indian company and we are about to finish a collaboration agreement with a US-based company.
BIOHOPE has met all the milestones planned so far, confirming that it is a reliable and promising company.
