Alga Seaweed Ltd attends the Smart City Expo World Congress

🌍✨ Last week, Alga (Seaweed) Ltd. represented by our CEO Ann Ruddy attended the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona and it was an inspiring and transformative experience! 

It was a privilege to connect with innovators, startups, and thought leaders across Europe who are dedicated to building sustainable, inclusive, and smart cities for the future.

Over the past few days, we were able to engage in insightful discussions and workshops, witness groundbreaking projects firsthand, and feel the shared commitment to advancing the EU's Green Deal vision. The event highlighted the impactful work of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative, which embodies sustainability, inclusivity, and aesthetics—all essential pillars for the cities of tomorrow.

A huge thank you to the EIT Community NEB, including EIT Climate-KIC, EIT Food, EIT Manufacturing and EIT Urban Mobility, for leading this incredible journey. Special appreciation goes to the dedicated organizers and mentors who made this program a success: Catherine Breyssens, Alexandros Nikopoulos, Blanca Chocarro Ruiz, Celeste Reglá Díaz, Rebecca van Eijk, and Anna Laarits, and our incredible mentors.

It was a pleasure to collaborate with and be inspired by like-minded changemakers: Noelia Gonzalez Vila (Joy and Meal), Laura Gallo (Coffeefrom), Karin Fleck (Vienna Textile Lab), Mónica Villoslada Valbuena (Remonda), Mary Grace Gasco (SpaceCrop), Jan Anders Karlsson (FreyZein - NextGen Textiles), Martin Skea (ToGather Homes), Miguel Prados Rodríguez (Comunitaria.com), Abhishek Kumar D. (EKOTEKT) and many more who are pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability across various industries.
