EOOS NEXT GmbH

EOOS NEXT is a Vienna based social enterprise founded in 2020. The industrial design studio has a focus on social and sustainable design projects for emerging countries. The multididciplinary team strives for positive change by designing transformative technologies currently in the fields of mobility, health, water, self-sufficient toilets and electricity. The studio focuses on translating technologies into products and visualizing them in full scale. State–of–the–art software and rapid prototyping technologies, such as additive manufacturing, are being used to visualize future-oriented products. While engineering services are outsourced to partners, the team focuses on design and delivers design models that can be used to better understand user behaviour. These models serve as the departure points for subsequent industrialization processes. The interdisciplinary studio collaborates globally with universities and research institutes, social enterprises and NGOs, such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. At the moment, field tests of prototypes which are improved and adapted together with local partners in a co-design process are taking place in India, South Africa and Nepal. In order to improve the situation of people in need, EOOS NEXT uses Open Design, while applying the principles of Circular Design across all projects.
