Brite - Agri-PV pilot installation with Brite's Solar Glass
Video by customer using our technology in the Netherlands (English subtitles)
BRITE has developed an innovative transparent solar panel for applications in greenhouses and Agri-PV systems, which achieves negative carbon footprint per kilogram of crop produced in farming (agricultural decarbonization).
BRITE's innovation allows the solar panel to absorb ultraviolet radiation, which is useless to both plants and solar cells, and to re-emit it into the visible spectrum where it can be used by plants and solar cells. In addition, BRITE has designed a panel that offers the end user different sizes of glass and degrees of transparency, so that it is compatible with any greenhouse construction and level of brightness required by different types of plants.
BRITE technology is covered by international patents filed in China, the European Union and the USA. BRITE has piloted this product on a new greenhouse of TSANTALI Winery, in AGRI-PV systems in the Netherlands, and is currently working on greenhouse renovations in the USA (California, Arizona). The results of these applications are extremely positive because they show an increase in agricultural production while zeroing the cost of energy required for this production, due to the ability of the panel to produce this energy from the sun.
BRITE is the only company in Greece in which the EIC Fund will invest by participating in its shareholder structure, and the completion of this investment will be used to create the first production line of transparent solar glass for agricultural applications worldwide.
