Ably Medical

Ably Medical AS (NOR) is a preventive healthcare company. Our vision is to move society towards preventive health care. The company was established in 2015 by four co-founders with backgrounds from industrial design, music technology, human factors psychology, health science and start-up experience. This group of serial entrepreneurs is supported by an Advisory Board with extensive commercial expertise in the healthcare sector, including the hospital bed market. Our core vision came after spending time observing patient care and medical staff challenges at a specialist rehabilitation hospital, seeing the challenges of nurse burden, patient mobility, and medical staff struggling to keep track of how the patient was recovering first-hand. Our mission is to bring society from reactive and fragmented health care to preventive and integrated services. Our first product is Florence, the next generation hospital bed. Florence will solve issues of monitoring, mobility and integrity of patient care in the hospital setting. Ably Medical is now a cross-disciplinary team with 18 employees from medical science, software, engineering, health economics, and design. We work closely with hospital partners in Europe, North America, and the Asian region.
