You don’t feel colorectal cancer (CRC) starting, and when you do, it’s too late. This makes CRC the second most frequent malignant disease in Europe. Every year, 412 000 people are diagnosed with this condition, and 207 000 patients die of iti. Yet, CRC is a highly treatable cancer if detected early: 9 out of 10 cases of CRC could be treated successfully if diagnosed at an early stageii. Mass screening saves lives, but has low participation due to a cumbersome and expensive processiii.
