Polish Business and Innovation Centers Association
About your organization / profile
Polish Business and Innovation Centers Association (SOOIPP / PBICA) is Poland’s nationwide network bringing together organisations and experts that develop the entrepreneurship and innovation support infrastructure. Established in autumn 1992, SOOIPP brings together individual and institutional members representing technology parks and incubators, technology transfer centres, business incubators, universities and companies working for regional and local development.
Our mission is to support the creation and growth of innovative companies and regions by strengthening business & innovation centres through substantive and organisational support, knowledge sharing and joint initiatives. SOOIPP acts as a coordinating and inspiring community and runs information activities for more than 1,000 representatives of institutions supporting innovative enterprises.
SOOIPP’s core activities include:
• Professional development & standards: improving the qualifications of centre managers and teams; sharing good practices; developing model solutions and operating standards for innovation centres; supporting technology transfer and innovation (especially from science to business) and SME competitiveness. • Research & ecosystem intelligence: cyclical national research on innovation and entrepreneurship centres (since 1995) and surveys of firms operating in technology parks and incubators (since 2009). Over the last 30 years, SOOIPP has produced 10 comprehensive reports mapping resources, performance, barriers and development directions of Poland’s support infrastructure.
• Community building: the annual SOOIPP conference (run since the Association’s early days) and the Summer School of Innovation (since 2009) that strengthen competencies and collaboration across the ecosystem.
• Networking & international cooperation: permanent working contact with 300+ innovation and entrepreneurship centres (including the strong majority of parks and technology incubators, transfer centres, loan funds and training/consultancy centres) and engagement with international organisations supporting entrepreneurship and business-support institutions.
• Advocacy & expert input: expert teams preparing analyses, recommendations and opinions for policy and programme documents, and representing the interests of innovation centres at national and regional level.
Value for the EuroQuity community: SOOIPP helps connect startups, scaleups, investors and ecosystem builders to trusted intermediaries across Poland—accelerating technology transfer, market validation, access to specialised support services and cross-border collaboration.
