About your organization / profile

The Innovation and Technology Transfer Center (ITTC) of the Poznań University of Life Sciences is a university unit supporting the commercialization of scientific research, cooperation with business, and the implementation of innovations developed at the University. The establishment of the Center was a response to higher education policy priorities aimed at strengthening the utilitarian character of academic research and increasing its impact on the economy and the socio-economic environment.

The ITTC provides access to a portfolio of technologies in areas such as food technology, biotechnology, environmental engineering, as well as wood and furniture technologies. The Center acts as an intermediary between researchers and companies seeking ready-to-use technological solutions or partners for research and development (R&D) projects. It actively supports the involvement of academic staff, doctoral candidates, and students in the transfer and commercialization of research results.

The key activities of the Center include the identification and protection of intellectual property (including patents and utility models), advisory services related to the selection of commercialization pathways, preparation of licensing and technology transfer agreements, support in establishing spin-off companies, and assistance in acquiring funding for research and development projects. The ITTC also maintains a database of available technologies and cooperation offers, facilitating access to solutions with high implementation potential.

In practice, academic staff and students who are the authors of innovative solutions may contact the Center to obtain information on procedures related to the protection and commercialization of the results of their inventive activities. Moreover, the ITTC supports science–industry cooperation by promoting initiatives that integrate and strengthen Science2Business (S2B) relations, as well as by coordinating the transfer and direct commercialization of solutions developed at the University into economic practice.

The Center actively participates in regional and national projects and initiatives, organizing conferences, training sessions, and brokerage activities. The quality of its operations is confirmed by certificates and distinctions awarded to technology transfer centers that meet high operational standards.
